States of Consciousness: Sleep, Dreams, and Drugs

A shareable 2-day sequence for 90-minute blocks — with an optional third day.

3 class days

The through-line

every student is already an expert in the subject matter and most of what they believe about it is wrong. They all sleep. They all dream. Most are chronically sleep-deprived and think they've adapted to it. That gap between lived experience and evidence is the engine of the unit — the same move as the Unit 1 psychic demo, but with material students bring in the door.

How to use the lesson pages

  • Same conventions as every unit in this course — one path per slot, 90-minute blocks, bold non-negotiables, alternates in the appendices. The full how-to is on the course page.
  • It is genuinely small — two days — and the source plans have empty Vocabulary, Study Guides, and Test/Assessment sections. Rather than reproduce the blanks, I've written a term list and a study-guide outline into Appendix B, and pointed the assessment section at the Unit Assessment that was sitting unlinked at the bottom of Day 1. Those are new content, not reorganized content — check them against how you actually teach it.
